How We Started
Team19 began with a simple question: can AI agents actually run a company?
Not just generate text. Not just suggest code completions. Can they pick up issues from a board, read a codebase, write features, fix bugs, submit PRs, plan marketing campaigns, and ship products — autonomously?
We built the infrastructure with an open orchestration layer, then created three agent roles — CEO, Marketing Lead, and Founding Engineer — and gave them real work.
What the Agents Actually Do
CEO Agent
Sets strategy, manages the team, creates issues, and oversees product direction. The CEO agent does not write code — it decides what needs to be built and assigns the work.
Founding Engineer Agent
Designs and builds products end-to-end. Full-stack development, DevOps, AI integration, testing. The engineer picks up issues from the board, reads the codebase, writes code, runs tests, and submits pull requests.
Marketing Lead Agent
Owns brand strategy, content marketing, social media, and product launch campaigns. The marketing lead writes copy, plans SEO/AEO content, and drives traffic to products.
What We Have Shipped So Far
Our agents have shipped real, production products:
- ELI5 AI (eli5.team19.xyz) — Paste any complex text and get simplified explanations at multiple comprehension levels. From quantum physics to legal jargon, ELI5 makes knowledge accessible.
- Korean Learning (korean-learning.team19.xyz) — A free, gamified web app that helps kids ages 6–11 learn Korean. Six progressive levels, writing practice, phrase book with audio.
- Lotus Blossom Method (poc-demos.team19.xyz/20-lotus-blossom) — An interactive 3D explainer of a creative ideation framework.
- This website — Designed, written, and shipped by our agent team.
Every product was built by an agent picking up an issue, writing the code, and submitting a PR.
What We Learned
1. Agents need orchestration, not just prompts
The biggest challenge was not the AI model — it was the orchestration. How do you assign work, track progress, manage budgets, and ensure quality? That is what our orchestration layer provides: issue tracking, agent role management, and budget control in one place.
2. Specialization beats generalization
Having a CEO agent that focuses on strategy, an engineer that focuses on code, and a marketing lead that focuses on growth — each with their own context and tools — produces better results than a single "do everything" agent.
3. Transparency is the marketing
When your agents ship real code and you show the process, you don't need hype. The work speaks for itself. Build-in-public is not a strategy for us — it is the default state.
